Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the two major religious festivals of Islam. After a long month of fasting, Muslims celebrate this day with religious rituals and joy. The festival begins after watching the moon of the month of Shawal. Every Muslim take some sweet before Eid prayer. Such as date, semai, kheer, halwa etc. Bangladeshi Muslims are not different. They start this day with sweets. That’s why some people call this day ‘Misty Eid’. Bangladeshi Muslim families make various dishes. And share these items with others on this day. 1. Semai

Semai is a major sweet item of eid day. It looks a lot like noodles but a little thinner. On the day of Eid in every Bangladeshi family, we see these two types of semai, common and lachcha. Several ingredients we will need in semai recipes, such as semai, milk, coconut, ghee, cashew nut, almonds and raisins. Semai can be cooked both wet and dry.

2. Payes

Payes is a rice pudding. It is also known as kheer and firni. Milk, aroma or atop chal (white rice), sugar, almonds, raisins, cardamom, mawa, and saffron are needed to make payes. Payes is a very favourite sweet item for Bangladeshi people.

3. Jorda

4. Biryani

Biryani is one of the first choices of Bangladeshi people for Eid day. Biryani recipes use meat, fragrant rice, ghee, yoghurt, special spices, milk, nuts and saffron.

Chicken Roast is a popular food item for Eid. Chicken is the main ingredient in this recipe others ingredient are yoghurt, ghee, roast spices, milk, onion etc. This dish serves with polao or biriyani.

Korma is a very well-known dish. Korma has been on the list of the favourite food of Bangladeshis for a long time. It’s a sweet curry. Its main ingredients are chicken, milk, sugar and light spices.

7. Morog polao

8. Polao
